Swimming Pools

MIOX technology produces pleasing, safe, and healthy crystal clear water for swimming pools.

No Shocking Required
If combined chlorine forms, it does not off-gas to create air quality issues. Moreover, there is no need to superchlorinate the pool to remove combined chlorine, since breakpoint occurs without the addition of excess chemicals to the pool.

More Gentle to Swimmers
There is no production of chlorinous odors in the air, no burning eyes, and no skin irritation. Swimmers also report that the water actually makes their skin feel refreshed and their hair feel healthier.

Reduced Corrosion
There is no off-gassing of chlorine chemicals, reducing corrosion damage to the facility.

No Biofilm or Algae
Slime, bacteria, and algae are eliminated from pool surfaces, re-growth is prevented, and pool water is crystal clear.

Simpler to Maintain
Chemical adjustments for pH and total alkalinity are reduced, since the pH of the MIOX solution is not as caustic as calcium or sodium hypochlorite, nor is it as acidic as gas chlorine or Trichlor. Pool water does not have to be drained or replaced to manage combined chlorine concentrations, and the accumulation rate of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) is reduced.

Better Disinfection
Mixed oxidants give a much quicker inactivation rate of a wider range of microorganisms than traditional chlorination technologies, so there is a decreased risk of waterborne diseases, outbreaks, and illnesses.

Safer
No handling of chlorine is required, pool personnel do not have to wear protective gear, and there are no storage compatibility issues. An environmentally “Green” feed-stock of simple sodium chloride salt converted on site, in use quantities and concentrations for direct application, is all that is needed.
