How do MIOX salt and energy conversion efficiencies compare to other on-site chlorine generators?
The salt and energy conversion efficiencies of MIOX on-site hypochlorite generators are comparable to and sometimes even better than alternative on-site hypochlorite generators.
Note: MIOX mixed-oxidant generators have been optimized for disinfection performance, to achieve the highest inactivation rate possible. To produce this superior disinfection, MIOX mixed-oxidant generators do require slightly more energy per pound of free available chlorine (FAC) than do hypochlorite generators. However, customers are able to reduce their dosage [Residual] by approximately 30 percent, due to the superior oxidizing power [Microbial], which nearly equalizes the effective mixed-oxidant and hypochlorite salt and power conversion efficiencies.
